The Da Vinci Code – The Sensation Continues

Inq7 reports today that Lipa Archbishop Ramon Arguelles has urged Philippine film censors to ban in local theaters the Hollywood film “The Da Vinci Code,” dismissing it as blasphemous. My question is, did they make the same move to ban the distribution in the country of the very source of the movie, i.e., the book itself?

I think readers and movie viewers alike are very smart people capable of deciding for themselves how much of this novel/movie makes sense, how much they want to believe. In one of the talks conducted by Mr. Dan Brown (author), he quoted a wise British priest saying,

“Christian theology has survived the writings of Galileo, and the writings of Darwin. Surely it will survive the writings of some novelist from New Hampshire.”
